Tears of animals
Wonder Nature Society
With ice melting and fire burning everywhere,
Global warming has conquered the world,
Where they should go?
Should we just stand by, while animals are being over-hunt,
Should we look away, when they lost their homes,
The whole world suffers with each loss.
What kind of world will our children see?
Perhaps they will see destruction world.
When will we end the madness?
Over-developments are everywhere,
Can we see they are crying?
With extensive loss of endangered species,
Can we just keep quiet?

Poem 2
Endangered, Saved and Extinct
Wonder Nature Society
Elephant oh elephant!
In Africa you live,
On a safari you survive,
You are hunted for your precious ivory.
Bison oh bison!
We’re happy to see you again,
You’ve been hiding for a long time,
Make us wonder where you are.
Dodo oh dodo!
We miss you a lot,
Do we’ve chance to see you again?
Only pictures remind us,
As eternal memories of you.

Reasons why animals become endangered and how to save them
By: Wonder Nature Society
We from Wonder Nature Society have done some researches on endangered species. When we gather the information that we have, we were shocked by the findings. The data taken from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) shows that, from 46,677 animals and plants that are on “Red-List” of endangered species, 17,291 species are at the brink of extinction. Our country is at second place in the list of countries with largest number of threatened species after the United States. There are approximately 805 species here are being threatened. When we read we ask question to ourselves. Why it is so many animals fall under endangered species and how can we save them from being extinct? We come up with some of the reasons that might not notice all this while and we also provide you on how you can help us in protecting these animals.
There are four main reasons why animals are facing extinction. The most vital reason is their habitat loss. They lost their habitat due to human greediness. We cut off the trees to give ways for development of new cities. We are being selfish when it comes to modernization. Next reason is global warming. Yes we know that ice in North Pole and South Pole is melting. Thus, animals that lived in that area live in danger. Changes in climate make it harder for animal to adjust themselves. The third reason is over-hunting. In United States, there is no act has been amended to limit the hunting of the animals. So the hunters can hunt without limit during the hunting season. Over-exploitation is another reason of animals become extinct. Animals are being hunt because of their precious skins, feathers, pelts. If there is more demand in the market, more animal are hunt for the hunter’s profit.
In order to save these animals, we have come up with some simple solutions that you can do it on your own. You can help us by plant a tree at your backyard. You can put bird’s house on that tree to attract the birds. This way we can help the birds to breed and increase the number of birds. Besides that, we should try to minimize the usage of harmful chemical like pesticides. If you notice, pesticides give more harm than good. Pesticides can destroy the insect’s houses. Insects are the primary consumer in a food chain. If one of the food chain consumers is disturbed, it will affect the ecological system in that area. If you have friends who lived in countryside, encourage them to not cut off the old trees as the old trees have the hollow that allow animals to live there. The most important thing that you can help us is please do not litter anywhere you like. For example, if we go picnic at the seaside, please throw all the rubbish especially plastic bags in the dustbin that the municipal have provides. For your info, plastic bags are the reason why turtles are dying. They are eating the plastic bags that you throw and make them choked and left to dead alone.
In a nutshell, we need to work together to save these animals. These animals play important roles in our ecosystem. Without them, this world would become imbalance. Save the animals so that our younger generations can still see them with their own eyes. It is a loss for us if the beautiful creatures are dead because of our mistake and carelessness. Take your time to think and do something before it is too late.

What is endangered species?
Look at us, we are crying...if animals can talk..this will be their first sentence for us!!!
Please refers to these website if you want to know more what is endangered species :
http://animals.about.com/od/e/g/endangeredspeci.htm
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/endangered+species
http://www.earthsendangered.com/
According to Klappenbach, L. (n.d.), an endangered species is a native species that faces a significant risk of extinction in the near future throughout all or a significant portion of its range. Such species may be declining in number due to threats such as habitat destruction, climate change, or pressure from invasive species.
The term 'endangered species' can be used either in general or legal context. When used in a general sense, the term describes a species that faces a risk of extinction but does not necessarily indicate that the species is protected under any law.
When used in a legal context, the term refers specifically to a species that is listed on the US Endangered Species List and is defined legally as an animal or plant species in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range.

Two examples of endangered species and how they become endangered
..ARCTIC WOLF..
There are two reasons why people are hunting for arctic wolves.
The first reason is because of its pelt (fur). Its pelt is soft and beautiful. People would killed te wolves because the pelt have high demand in the market and it can generate a lot of money.
The second reason is because of the children bedtime stories. The children have been told the stories about "big bad wolf". One of the stories are "Little Red Riding Hood". When they grow up, they will keep in mind that wolves are bad and dangerous animals. so with that in mind, they killed the innocent wolves.
More info about arctic wolf, you may refer here. (http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/arctic-fox/)

..ELEPHANTS..
The reason elephants become endangered is because people are poaching them (illegal hunting). The number of elephants left on earth are 60,000. It seems like there are many elephants left, but if people keep on poaching them, it will lead to their extinction.
In fact, people have been poaching elephants for their ivory and sometimes people just don't have the ideas why they killed the elephants.Besides that, opening new cities and destroying their natural habitat also affect to the number of the elephants.

Reasons why animal become endangered

..Reasons animals Become Endangered..
According to the 1973 US Endangered Species Act, animals are defined as endangered if the species is close to extinction throughout all or most of its environment. Animals become endangered for a variety of reasons, most of it got to do with changes to their natural habitats. In fact, habitat destruction is a primary cause. Urban growth, mining and agricultural operations all can destroy the natural habitats of animal populations.
Habitat loss
Animals lost their habitat due to over-development. Their home was torn down to give ways to people to build more buildings.
Global warming
Global warming is one of the main reasons species become endangered. Due to global warming problem, this problem is getting worst and some species cannot adapt to the weather changes. They cannot survive in the new environment.
Over-hunting
Over-hunting also a main reason most species become endangered. For example, there are no government law stated that they cannot hunting or the limitations to hunt, so most bird species become extinct due to the over-hunting.
Over-exploitation
As we can see nowadays, there is much exploitation by using animal’s skins, feathers and also the shells. Many human nowadays only think about money. So, they take advantage by selling animal’s skins, furthers and also elephant ivory.
Finally, as we can see nowadays, there is much exploitation by using animal’s skins, feathers and the shells. Many human nowadays only think about money. Therefore, they take an advantage by sell animal’s skins, feathers and the shells.
